The timeline varies depending on your registration groups, audit type, and how quickly documentation can be prepared. Most providers should allow several months from initial consultation to registration decision. The NDIS Commission assesses each application individually, and the quality audit process adds time. We help you move through each stage as efficiently as possible, but the final timeline depends on the Commission’s assessment process.
Verification audits are desk-based assessments for lower-risk registration groups. Certification audits are more comprehensive, typically involve site visits, and apply to higher-risk registration groups such as personal care, daily living support, and specialist disability accommodation. If your application includes any registration group requiring certification, you will need a certification audit for the full application.
Not always. Unregistered providers can deliver services to participants who self-manage or plan-manage their NDIS funding. However, registration is mandatory for certain support types (such as specialist disability accommodation and behaviour support), and from 1 July 2026, mandatory registration expands to include Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers and platform providers.
Yes. The Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Rules 2025 commenced on 1 November 2025, introducing a new registration framework with six categories. Pravida supports providers through the application process, Quality Standards alignment, and documentation development for all registration categories. Final registration decisions are made by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
